Our Team

Marco Reyes

From the city of Chicago, a product of Chicago Public High School and later the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, he curiously came to China to satisfy a study abroad requirement which later turned into a 15 year chapter of his life. At 21 years old, he and his partners entered the start-up world and never looked back. As Chief Operating Officer, he oversees business operations, staff training, international partnerships & programs, and YMCE’s school trips division. He sits on the board as Treasurer of the International Camping Fellowship, has visited over 120 camps world-wide and volunteers for the American Chamber of Commerce in China. His passions continue to be bringing people together, rugby, and family. He lives in Beijing with his wife, Bibiana, and 3 year old son, Emilio.

Mike Lewis

Mike Lewis is an outdoorsman through and through. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, the Boy Scouts of America is what set him for a life of adventure and challenge. After a career ending knee injury he was honorably discharged from the U.S. Naval Academy and pivoted to HBCU Huston-Tillotson where he graduated with Honors. His China story began in 2007 after a summer study abroad program where he knew he would come back to continue this journey. He is YMCE’s Executive Director of Camps, having opened each of our Camp Greenwoods locations and maintaining program quality year on year. He is based in Shanghai with his wife Kay and son, Elias. Beyond Camp Mike loves training he is the Asia West District Training Chair for the Boy Scouts of America. He is also a level 2 trainer for the greater China for the Duke of Edinburgh.

Josh Lee

Hailing from Yunnan China, one of the first in his family to attend university, a graduate of the prestigious Peking University for his undergraduate studies and currently a Doctorate candidate in Education. He met his fellow co-founders in early 2009 in the bustling streets of post-Olympics Beijing. Inspired to do something new, and wanted to change the future of education for his own son, Harold. He is Chief Executive Officer of YMCE leading the charge and connecting the dots. Beyond managing multiple divisions, he is our government liaison and relationship builder. He is based in Beijing with his loving wife and family.

James Lewis

James Zhang joined the team in 2016 during our second chapter. He is the creative director and marketing guru for YMCE. During that stage we rebranded and restructured from Stateside Adventures to YMCE with our Chinese brand 游美 remaining the same. Joining the new team as a co-owner and co-founder, he is irreplaceable for our company’s growth and strategy. A family man with a wife and daughter, he is based in Beijing full time. Originally from Yunnan province he came to Beijing to study at Beijing Communications University. When not in Beijing you may find him meeting new partners, designing programs, and idea building.
